The blurb from the publisher…

One great love. Two horrible mistakes. Do second chances really exist?

Victoria Stratton tried to heal her broken heart by working. When she was focused on saving her father’s legacy she couldn’t think about Shelby Kimball. She knew it was too much to ask when suddenly five years ago Victoria’s father sent her to Japan to save the company. Shelby wouldn’t come with her, but now, she was coming home and prepared to do whatever it took to get another chance with Shelby.

It had been five long years since the love of Shelby Kimball’s life left for Japan without her. Five years of questioning why Shelby didn’t go with her. What she would give for a do over.

Out of the blue Victoria appears and asks Shelby to do the strangest thing: “Would you climb a mountain with me?”

Was this the second chance Shelby hoped for? Could they figure out what went wrong and do it right this time? Could they really climb this mountain and come back down together?

Find out if The Woman Who Climbed A Mountain gets her second chance at her one great love.

My thoughts…

Readers that enjoy a classic second chance romance will certainly appreciate Jamey Moody’s latest book. This romance is sexy and full of heart. Moody fills the storytelling with passion and sweet romance; once she ignites the chemistry between her leads, it never stops. This is one that’s hard to refuse for a true, hard-core romance lover.

The Woman Who Climbed A Mountainis the second book in Moody’s three part series the Second Chance Series. Readers are introduced to Victoria Stratton and Shelby Kimball, two ladies who seek a second chance at love. Victoria and Shelby are women with a history and a past that they can’t seem to forget. They cradle the memories of their time together like it’s the most precious thing, yet they can’t seem to find a way to reconnect and build something stronger. This book is all about their journey back to one another and Moody takes a unique approach in getting them there. She has them summit a mountain and their relationship problems at the same time. The climb is emotional and tender, filled with heartfelt, romantic scenes that make one’s heart beat a little faster.

Since this is a series, it not only has reoccurring themes but reoccurring characters. Dru and Marina from The Woman at the Top of the Stairs are nicely integrated into the story arc and readers enjoy several lovely scenes with them and their friends. This series reminds me of Melissa Brayden’s Seven Shores Romance series in that the characters are all interconnected by where they live and work. Additionally, they share a friendship that enhances not only each story arc but the series as well.

Final remarks…

Moody is a strong writer. She revels in the romance of sapphic fiction. She tenderly scripts sweet, flirty dialogue into her scenes and makes readers swoon. It’s clear she loves the genre and readers can appreciate that. This is a solid story and I look forward to the next one in the series.

Strengths…

  • Passionately told
  • Strong romantic chemistry between characters
  • Well-scripted dialogue
  • Quick, enjoyable read

The Second Chance Series…

A bit about the author…

Jamey is a small town Texas girl that grew up believing she could do anything. Her mother loved to read, and romance novels were a favorite that she passed on to her daughter. When she found lesfic novels, her world changed. She not only fell in love with the genre but wanted to write her own stories. When she’s not writing her next lesbian romance, she can be found riding her bike, paddle boarding on a lake or in the middle of some adventure.
